This week we took our inspiration from a real work of art. We looked at Paul Klee’s ‘Castle and Sun’ and how he combined shapes of different sizes and colours.
First we made our own glue using flour, water and a little salt. Little E loved this part of the process, any excuse to get messy!
Then we got busy sticking our shapes. It was a great opportunity to talk about colours as well as the difference between big and small.
We all stuck a big yellow sun on our paper to complete the picture.
Here’s one of our finished masterpieces. It was a fun project which kept the kids interested for quite a long time. We followed it up by building our own towers in the playroom.
